Some nursery updates

I bought these 5x5 alphabet canvases at HomeGoods a while back. They were a HUGE pain to unpack(each one of the 26 had two screws and all four corners stapled with cardboard covers). THEN they didn't have a grommet tag or whatever on the back to hang them FROM. So, I finally got some advice to hang them with command strips that is like velcro with sticky on the other side and it worked like a charm. So excited to have them up:)





Also, I hung my pinterest inspired bird art and a gift I got from my cousin Kori:)




I'll take more soon! Can't wait to enjoy the room when she's here!

busy busy

Todays message at church was really awesome. It was about not getting caught up in busyness but being about God's business. I am really going to have to work on that. here are some cute videos I have been "too busy" to post....

My first baby shower!

Best day ever today! Celebrating AdaReece with some awesome friends:) Missy Reynolds is Michael's partner's wife and she hosted an AMAZING shower at their home today. I was truly showered with way too many gifts. So thankful for them all!

New floors in the bedroom

I'm typing this entry from my granny bed, feet and head elevated. Yep, Michael finally got what he has been dreaming about for the past 4 years or so. a dual adjustable tempurpedic bed. with remotes that raise the head and/or feet as well as "massage" a feature i have no intention of using:) he has wanted this bed forever and he finally got it!
It started with the dogs ruining the carpet in our bedroom. It was the shaggy-ish kind and you couldn't see where they had peed but we ended up figuring our they were having LOTS of potty breaks in our bedroom. So we decided since the rest of the downstairs is hardwood rather that replacing with carpet that they would probably ruin again to go ahead and get hardwood. It took a while to go through with getting them because it was pretty pricey. So, once we decided to get the hardwood we reasoned it was also time to go ahead and upgrade to a king bed and while we're at it may as well get a new bedroom suite to really do it right! I failed to take pics before of our old furniture but I may have one from when we first moved...but here are the progress pics:

Curtains up in the nursery!

We made some progress today! Finally got the curtains that were on back order in and up:)





I bought a clearance rod from bed bath and beyond and we will probably take it back. Michael had a REALLY tough time with the bracket on one side and it is a weak rod and sags in the middle but we cant mount the middle support to the window trim... Oh well! I'm excited to get other stuff up on the walls now!

AdaReece's mom

This is not me. I am never wide awake at 2am. never. I have been laying, wide wake in bed for about 45 minutes. So instead of being Dannis, I guess I am now AdaReece's mom.

I finally decided to come downstairs and was going to do some laundry but hate to make noise and wake Michael up....and I will post pictures soon but we are sleeping upstairs because we are getting the carpet taken out of our bedroom and having hardwood installed. It looks beautiful! The stain has been applied and now it is being sealed and must be reapplied and dried over several days. It stinks really bad but the floors are going to look amazing.

Today, in about 5 hours, my alarm will go off so I can get ready to go to the Country Living magazine antique and craft vendor market expo thing in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Click here to check out what it is I am excited to see what they have. Me and my awesome crafty friend Billie are going. (she is the one that had the Royal Wedding Party and the Pinterest Craft party). I hope to find some cute nursery items and maybe get a head start on some christmas shopping since i will be bigger than a whale when the time comes that i usually shop:)

Well, I will update you soon on all the fun stuff that I did on 3 hours of sleep... maybe i can squeeze a few more hours in before my alarm goes off...

Instagram

I just started using this new photo app called instagram. It uses your phones camera and lets you edit the picture. Really fun to play with and make pretty photos. Here are some I've taken this week.
